Reanimation Within Reach

Elon Musk says that Neuralink is on the verge of being able to offer immortality. In what was initially considered an unserious post, Mr. Musk suggested, “Could totally use Neuralink to reanimate president. DJT 2.0- smarter, faster, deadlier.” A few minutes later he posted, “No problem if body also required. DJT 2.0 forever” with a ‘rock on’ emoji. Asked to clarify what he meant by that, he said, “Consciousness can be transferred. Easy.”

“Totally,” the tech billionaire confirmed in a live address on X. “Um, like, yeah- we’re there! Immortality!” he shouted, pumping his pale, bloated fist in the air. He went on to explain that while the human shell has to die, consciousness can live on. “It simply needs a new shell and the means to transfer it. That’s what we’ve, um, accomplished.”

He claims that Neuralink can be used to capture a person’s consciousness and that it can then be transferred to a more reliable shell, such as Tesla’s Optimus robot. “Like, to live forever, you would simply need regular tune-ups. No doctors, no illness, no death.” He did not answer whether he would be willing to try it himself.

Tesla’s (TSLA) share price rose over 500% overnight in response to the announcement.
